How Are Refractories Classified?

By chemical composition:

Acidic, alkaline and neutral.

According to fire resistance, it is divided into four categories:

Ordinary refractory (1580 ~ 1770 ℃), advanced refractory (1770 ~ 2000 ℃), super refractory (above 2000 ℃) and super refractory (greater than 3000 ℃).

According to the processing and manufacturing process

It is divided into fired products, melt cast products and non fired products.

Refractories for blast furnace, open hearth furnace, converter, continuous casting, glass kiln, cement kiln, etc.

Classification by appearance:

Refractory shaped products, refractory mud and unshaped refractory materials.

According to shape and size:

Standard, general, special, special and super special products.

According to the forming process:

Natural rock cutting and sawing, mud pouring, plastic forming, semi dry forming, vibration, tamping, melting and casting and other products.

Divided by chemical mineral composition:

Aluminosilicate (clay brick, high alumina brick, magnesium chromium brick); Siliceous (silica brick, fused quartz fired products); Magnesia (magnesia brick, magnesia alumina brick, magnesia chrome brick); Carbonaceous (carbon brick, graphite brick); Dolomitic; Zircon; Special refractory products (high purity oxide products, refractory compound products and high temperature compliance materials).
