Clay Refractory Brick Introduction
Clay refractory brick is a refractory product produced with refractory clay as raw material. It is widely used in industry. Clay brick is divided into ordinary clay brick, multi clinker clay brick, whole raw material clay brick and high siliceous clay brick.
Clay Refractory Brick Characteristics
Clay refractory brick is a kind of acidic refractory. With the increase of Al2O3 content in brick, its acidity decreases gradually. Its thermal conductivity is the lowest of all refractories. Although its fire resistance is as high as 1700 ° C, the load softening temperature is only about 1300 ° C, which is the biggest disadvantage of clay brick. Therefore, it can not bear load and pressure when used at high temperature. When it is eroded by a large amount of R2O, its softening temperature will further drop to about 1050 ° C, so it can only be used at the lower part of the furnace pool wall or at the lower temperature of the pool bottom. The thermal expansion rate of clay brick is the smallest among common refractories. At the same time, due to the fine crystallization, small pores and uniform distribution of clay brick, the stress is easy to be buffered, so it has strong thermal shock resistance in a large range. In places where the temperature at the lower part of the regenerator is low, such as lattice brick, flue, refractory accessories near the feeder on the glass tank furnace, such as punch and bowl, where good thermal shock resistance is required, clay brick can play a full role.
Clay Refractory Brick Forming method
There are many manufacturing methods of clay refractory bricks, including manual molding, tamping molding, extruder molding, slurry pouring molding and press high-pressure molding. The properties of products vary greatly with different molding methods. Even if the chemical composition and types of raw materials are exactly the same, the properties of bricks will be different due to different forming methods. Different forming methods are adopted according to different parts.
For the regenerator lattice brick, the brick size is small, and the product formed by high-pressure press is the best;
For large pool wall bricks and trough bricks, the slurry casting method with vacuum exhaust is the best;
The products with accurate size requirements are better formed by tamping.
